Who Killed King Tut? Why the
Speculation?
What happened to spark all of the
speculation about Who Killed King Tut? The subject of Tutankhamun has
fascinated people ever since his fabulous tomb and breathtaking
treasures were discovered by Howard Carter in 1922. Was there a curse?
Why did so many people die who were apparently involved in the opening

Who Killed King Tut? Examinations of the
Mummy of Tutankhamun
In 1968 x-ray examinations of the
mummy of Tutankhamun by a
group from the University of Liverpool revealed that
the mummy
of King Tut had dense spot on the lower back of the
skull. Another investigation in 1978 followed lead
by a
group from the University
of Michigan also found the same.
These findings lead to significant questions and speculation that the
young King Tut had been killed, or murdered, by a blow on his head. In
2005 a further examination by
a
team of Egyptian scientists led by Dr. Zahi Hawass,
the Secretary General of the Egyptian Supreme Council of Antiquities
used
a CT scan on the mummy revealing that the skull
injury was likely to have been caused during the embalming process. They
also found damage to the left thighbone suggesting that Tutankhamun had
badly broken his leg before he died which could have possibly become
infected. The
problem is that no one knows for sure
exactly what happened! This section covers the possible suspects and
evidence to the question "Who Killed King Tut"? But the other question
that needs to be considered is "Did anyone Kill King Tut"?
